As a historian I can say this book is TERRIBLY dated. Originally written in the 1970's, he finished the book saying that with the passage of the British Anatomy Act of 1832, the age of the bodysnatchers was over. A statement so incredibly wrong I don't have time to explain why. What I CAN do is recommend that if anyone is interested in this subject they should go and read Ruth Richardson's book entitled "Death Dissection and the Destitute" to find out the true story. Suffice it to say Norman Adams skipped a significant part of the tale and MS. Richardson not only set the record straight, but opened the field to MUCH further investigation.

Category: A book that teaches you about another time in history. We had a assignment based on Egyptians and mummies. Although this book didn't teach me anything about mummies it was great all the same. I loved it because this author makes learning about history so fun and in a way that's easy to understand. Many others of his are great and really smart ways of getting teenagers in particular to learn something. There was nothing disappointing because history only amazes me. (:
