Although this book has the author as Joseph Mayett the copy I have has been edited by Ann Kussmaul from Joseph Mayett's own work. Just mentioning that here as there wasn't the option for me to give the editor's name. This is another wonderful book in my collection, more wonderful as it mentions one of my own ancestors and shows that he was perhaps a little bit on the naughty side even though he was a deputy overseer and petty constable! Apart from the fact one of my ancestors is mentioned, it is such a great book, written at the time by someone from that time rather than someone at a later time, so its fascinating with the way the participants and Joseph Mayett speak, and things that were happening in the village of Quainton then. A real snapshot of the time.

A pretty insightful look into the thinking and personality of George Soros. My main take away was that perception is everything in this world and you are at an advantage when you are able to see beyond what the masses see. Soros' theory of refexivity is built on the idea that there exist an gap between reality and perception and perception is really the self reinforcing effect of subjective belief evolving into fact. This to me, seems like be in the realm of Economic Psychology. What's most interesting is that Soros' motivation to make money in investments was due to a desire to write as a philosopher. Along the way he found that he was a better investor than a philosopher and is happy to admit this.
