Bethsheba Spooner was put to death for the murder of her husband while pregnant-hanged in front of thousands of spectators not only for plotting against her faithless spouse but also to seek revenge against her Loyalist father who had escaped to New York. And, okay, I admit, I almost peed myself over one eerie historical finding later discussed in the pages.
