This is part diary, part memoir of a Polish Jewish woman who survived the ghettos and concentration camps of the Holocaust. I personally prefer the diary parts of it. It feels a little unfinished to me, as throughout it, she hints to a huge drama in her family and it's clear that she has bitter feelings toward her sister-in-law, that she pretty openly talks about, but then never says what happened. I'm not saying I want her to air her family's dirty laundry, but either be a total saint (which is how I think she'd like to be perceived) and leave it out all together, or just say what it is.

I hope, pray and believe that our country can be an example of how different cultures can come together to achieve great things. But for that to happen, love must drive out hatred and resent. This will not start with our politicians, but with us all.
