Review # 1 was written on 2007-09-20 00:00:00 Bach Wolfgang My 11 year old was reading this and I picked it up; it was hard to put down. It was a good introduction for him to holocaust history, none of which he has gotten in school yet and really intrigued him. Besides, it's an incredible story, beyond Lt. Birnbaum's experience in Europe; his upbringing during the Depression, his involvement with Israeli resistance fighters in '48 -- I haven't gotten much farther, but it's very interesting, though written like most Jewish memoirs, unfortunately (in need of an editor)
