Review # 1 was written on 2012-03-31 00:00:00 James Willingham Outstanding! This book is an informative, but short, introduction to the Christian tradition of meditation. Peter Toon explains the fundamental differences between Christian meditation traditions and the traditions of eastern religions, and emphasizes that Christian meditation is centered upon the triune God of the Bible and His Word. I understand that there are some strange ideas around meditation, even in Christian circles. However, this book shows the long tradition of meditation in Judaism and Christianity. There's no need to place the word mysticism in scare quotes.
