Review # 2 was written on 2008-02-26 00:00:00 Sandra Fauna I've read several of Leavitt's novels. Some are funny, some are weighty, some are near misses. In this one I feel the author was probably just having a lot of fun, and indeed it's a fun, quick read. It's full of small delights -- sixties period detail, word play, eccentric characters, a twisty plot, a metafiction kicker at the end. The book has been sitting on my shelf for a while, and I'm glad I finally bumped it to the head of the list.
