Review # 1 was written on 2014-08-08 00:00:00 Sean Poole If you are an English native speaker who is studying Slovene, this book is a must-have. It is well set-out, clear and comprehensive. The many bilingual examples are especially helpful in mastering Slovene grammar as well as gaining / reinforcing a large amount of vocabulary. |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-08-09 00:00:00 Mitra Conroy This is definately a hard book to read especially if you are not familar with linguistic terminology. I have had this book for some months now and i've not even made it half-way! Some of the language usage has changed since the book was published and a lot of the verbs mentioned are out-of-date already and most modern day speakers of Slovene would be amused to hear you say some of the phrases given in the book. Saying that, if you can get your head around the terminolgy used, it can be of great use used as a reference point. Having a native speaker to help you as well will provide a better working understanding of Slovene as how it is used today. |
