Review # 1 was written on 2016-11-18 00:00:00 Donna Brown Imagine reading this book before you had read a Dan Brown novel. (This book predates those anyway.) Then think about how interesting it would be if there was a shroud of Christ that was authentic, unlike the Shroud of Turin. Imagine if, prior to finding an accurate date of the shroud, you decided to do a little archao-biology and clone some DNA you found in the shroud. What would happen then? Desert dwellers like myself might enjoy how much of this book involves places like Arizona and New Mexico (and some scenes set in France and Turkey). It might be hard to find a copy, but a dear friend who has a lot of similar interests lent it to me. Thank you! If I could give the book 3-1/2 stars I would. It was a little hard to get into but I enjoyed the ride! |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-04-13 00:00:00 Peter A Handley This was a great book, but I regret the last few lines. It states that China's distrust of outsiders kept them from continuing to advance with the West. However, that seems to be an idea particular to Western culture, this idea that scientific advancement is the only worthwhile type of success. |
