Review # 1 was written on 2015-08-03 00:00:00 Tony Villa While there are some okay moments in this book, the title is an outright lie. The work here is modernist and traditional and no surprise at all, given that it's compiled and edited by Peter van Toorn, whose only major contribution to poetics was a book of sonnets written in the 1980s. Good sonnets, but. _Sounds New_ was published in 1990: recently enough to have done better and sounded newer.

Review # 2 was written on 2008-07-17 00:00:00 Garrett Turner I managed to find a copy of this book at Cheap Thrills, I was super impressed. Early Cohen, Atwood, and Layton. If you can find a copy, I would say its a gem among paper trash.
