| Review # 1 was written on 2019-05-22 00:00:00 Ma Gr Tragic. Unforgettable. I saw the John Greyson movie twice but this was my first time reading the Bouchard play. A beautiful love story between two young men at the turn of the 20th century in Roberval. Inspired by the D'Annunzio and De Bussy opera The Martyrdom of San Sebastian, this play reached into my heart and pulverized it. Vallier and Simon are a lot like Jim Grimsley's Dream Boy characters... I am haunted. |
