MERCHANT LI: How very nice to see you too. (Beat.) Is that all that you would like? SU-LING: Yes. MERCHANT LI: Not interested in anything else? SU-LING: No. ... from Act II MING: There has been a delivery from the market. Your wedding linens have arrived. Your honourable grandmother is waiting for you in the sitting room. SU-LING: Wha-- Why are you telling me this only now? MING: I was waiting until you were finished eating. SU-LING: Stupid! You should have told me earlier. MING: My apologies.
