Review # 1 was written on 2020-09-05 00:00:00 Carolyn Robinsky An excellent theological commentary surveying all aspects of Jesus' mother. Although written by an eminent Marian scholar this should be accessible to any interested, engaged, and educated reader. Because it is over thirty years old, the latest writings and scholarship, particularly of the last three popes, will not be in there. Nevertheless, this is an excellent jumping off point for Marian studies. |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-06-07 00:00:00 Malynda Kerwood This book is a good summary of belief in Mary. It begins with a solid biblical foundation, an exploration of how Marian doctrine has continued to develop and be clarified through the centuries, and indications of the renewal in Mariology that has come about through the Second Vatican Council. |
