One sentence these minions of practitioners have all forgotten: si vis vitam, para mortem. Death is no longer in their scope. The stare towards death is the essence of Freud's greatness. The great going-down, the loss of a gaze from high above. Half of the book made me feel like they are making a fuss for nothing, arguing over the issues that would only become an issue if there is no latent awareness of transvaluing the values. I doubt that any of these psychoanalysts have suffered from mental disease for long enough -- long enough to teach them appropriate reverence towards the blessings of Appollo, namely, the disease itself. Sad. Sad.
