Who cares? Bizarre, awkward, and rather morose look at rules and regulations. While Law and Order retains the strange tone of its infamous sister books about disabled people and the elderly, it doesn't veer into offensiveness like they do. Sadly, a cartoon cast of L & O does not appear within the pages of this book.

Kimber does quite a lot in the tale. I read this book as part of a British literature class, as one of the first novels written. I found it valuable to study in that context. When analyzing it as a sort of proto-novel, we see just how much is brought to the table in regards to craft. Kimber plays around with many things in this book -- oftentimes to his own fault. The story is somewhat enjoyable, but it truly gets repetitive rather quick, for Anderson is just too perfect; he is the epitome of a one-dimensional character. While it is not the most evolved and developed text I've ever read, overall Mr. Anderson is one that is worthy of analysis in the confines of understanding just how literature has evolved.
