Most males at the school are interested in some type of sport, which this book covers extensively. The goal for purchasing books such as this is to increase the male readership. Purpose: The purpose of this book in our library is to get our male students interested in coming to the library, using reference materials, and to eventually check out books and read for fun. The book itself is a wealth of sports information from the past year. Validity: Sports Illustrated, a well-known sports magazine, publishes the book, Sports Illustrated Almanac.
