Review # 1 was written on 2017-11-20 00:00:00 Jeremy Morley A book about books. Specifically, 14 essays on fictional books about the American Civil War. some essays were good, some not. But in spite of it's weakness of being a narrative about somebody else's narrative, it served it's purpose. Now off to the library to pick up a copy of Stephen Crane's "The Red Badge of Courage" for a re-reading after 45 years, and see how my perception of this book has changed after essentially a lifetime of real world experience.
