Review # 1 was written on 2016-04-28 00:00:00 Khalid Shamsher This book is the account of a woman living in the South during the Civil War. It amazes me how resilient she was in the midst of hardship. It's such a raw, unfiltered book from a primary source with facts that are hard to find nowadays, in our censored, inoffensive world. Hopefully I can write a more in depth review later, but for now, I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. *Reread 12/13/17. I have been getting into Civil War reenacting and wanted to read some civil war books to get into the mindset. :)* |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-02-20 00:00:00 William Bartlett This is a slender book. A first hand account by a woman slave holder on the Civil war. It is moving and interesting. |
