Review # 1 was written on 2016-10-31 00:00:00 Patrick Crosby Gives an excellent, all-encompassing synthesis of the main themes in the sacramental mystery. The author examines each sacrament, going through it's institution, scriptural basis, historical and theological development, external sign (matter and form), conditions for the minister and recipient, and it's effects, while also exploring contemporary ecumenical questions that are important to Christian sacramental understanding.

Review # 2 was written on 2021-04-04 00:00:00 Michael McLauchlin This book was used as the main text for a class I took. It is well-written, straightforward, and easy to read. Each chapter covers a sacrament, and each follows basically the same formula (Scriptural basis, historical development, theology), which makes it great as a textbook. I recommend this book as an intro to sacramental theology.
