"Louanne Pig in the Perfect Family" is another classic tale from Nancy Carlson about how Louanne Pig has to spend the weekend at her friend George's house and after spending time with George's family, she realizes the true meaning of a perfect family. "Louanne Pig in the Perfect Family" is a great book about learning the true meaning of a perfect family. Nancy Carlson's story is extremely cute and inspiring as we actually see how Louanne deals with living with a different family and how she tries to figure out the true meaning of being in the perfect family. The story itself can easily relate to many children who feel like they are in a family that is not perfect, but in the end, they realize that the perfect family is the people that they have lived with for many years and care about them through tough times. Also, Nancy Carlson effectively shows the disadvantages that both Louanne and George have with their families as Louanne always felt alone since she has no brothers or sisters to play with and George always has to deal with his brothers and sisters whenever they get into trouble. Nancy Carlson's illustrations are extremely cute and creative as once again, the characters are all animals and yet have human characteristics such as all the animal characters standing up on their hind legs like actual human beings. Also, the images that stood out the most were the images of George's family as the pages are literally full of white rabbits since George's family is extremely big. "Louanne Pig in the Perfect Family" is a cute story about learning about the true meaning of being in a perfect family and it will surely captivate many children who also feel like they do not have the perfect family. I would recommend this book to children ages four and up since there is nothing inappropriate about the content in this book.

This story is about a girl pig that lives with her mom and dad. Her friend next door (a rabbit) George, has five sisters and four brothers. Louanne wishes her family was as big as his, until one day she sleeps over his house. She begins to realize how difficult it is to have so many siblings and realizes that her family is fine just the way it is. This book introduces the topic of different families, and I love how it emphasizes that although they may be very different, each family is right for different people.
