In a nutshell:. *meh* I'm a bit surprised at how dated this 2004 book felt. As in, the"new craze" called scrapbooking? New research that questions hormone replacement therapy? That facet, along with large chunks of text that felt like wasted time, and a somewhat first-world viewpoint overall (or is it a case of excessive Christianese?), decreased this book's value in my eyes. Fitzpatrick's heart is certainly in the right place. I do appreciate her message that there is a unique freedom and confidence that comes with this time of life, which can enable us to enjoy serving the Lord in new and deeper ways. Amen. I wholeheartedly agree. However, the writing just did not succeed in engaging me as a reader..

Found this one @ a women's retreat. Started it, put it aside for awhile and then started reading again. Written for women in their middle years of life. About the changes in your life - children growing up and moving out, etc. Written with biblical wisdom and humor.
