This middle book of the series keeps the action going at a breakneck pace!! I spotted the plot twist for the end of book 3 in this book, but I barely had time to dwell on it! Such an intense ride! Book 2 brings in a new angle, as after the incidents in book 1, Agent Harris is replaced. Will his replacement mean good things, or bad things for the case? You will have to read and see!!! Reposting from Book 1's review: These books are leveled as early 5th grade, and that's also the age I would recommend. The series as a whole contains some violent incidences, but they are not graphic. Ex. mentions of gunshots, blood, physical altercation, but no specific details about them.

Personal Response- I thought The Search was a decent book. I liked that there were multiple plot twists. A young girl was kidnapped and her brother was looking for her. Every time her brother thought he was close to finding her, something would happen and he would be on the wrong track. Plot- In the beginning, Meg was being held captive by Spidey and Tiger. The FBI almost caught the kidnappers but they escaped and moved to a new location. Aiden, Meg's younger brother, decided to follow the kidnappers trail. He had a hard time. He was not old enough to drive, so he had to hitchhike. The kidnappers went to a ski lodge to send emails for a ransom. Aiden's father tried to offer 10,000 dollars for the ransom. The kidnappers said that was not enough money. Meg was able to escape her captors, but got lost in the mountains during a blizzard. Characterization- Meg was the main character. She was abducted by the kidnappers who are Spidey and Tiger. Meg's brother Aiden ran away trying to find his sister. He was very far behind, but he tried his hardest to find Meg. Meg's on her own, she escaped from the captors. Setting- The story took place in modern day Virginia. There was no known location due to the kidnappers traveling through the mountains of Virginia. They took her to a cabin where she escaped. She broke out of the cellar. The cabin was in the woods on a hill. Thematic- The theme is to never give up. Meg was constantly trying to escape from her captors and was successful because she did not give up. Also, Aiden never gave up looking for his sister. Recommendation- I recommend this book to a boy or girl who is fifteen years old or older. This book is perfect for someone who like intense action. I give this book a four star rating due to the nonstop action.
