Review # 1 was written on 2010-05-05 00:00:00 Daniel Oakley There is some excellent analysis in this book and its premise is certainly valuable. But chapters often feel scattered. The Jewett chapter suffers from a lack of argumentative direction that seriously weakens it; the Garland/Frederic chapter, while making excellent points, doesn't do a particularly good job of establishing its relationship to the book's overall argument. |
