Review # 1 was written on 2013-02-09 00:00:00 May Freeman Mormons, precious metals, and slavery....those were the ingredients that went into making Nevada. I'm really interested in Western history, so I did like this book. There were just so many people mentioned in this short book, they were hard to differentiate and remember. This book really focused primarily on the area around Carson City and the Comstock Lode. It really rushed through the actual process of statehood, the political backdrop.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-12-21 00:00:00 Rod Smith This book was well written and the most informative and interesting account I have read about Nevada's beginning. It has even inspired me to contact Mormon Station to do a program at the California Trail Interpretive Center!
