This reads as more of a college thesis than a book for the masses. Stodgily written, this plods through material far better presented in other books. For some reason Reynolds repeats the title of each section/ chapter and then writes from there. This is something grade schoolers do. There are also few illustrations or photographs included making the effort to note specific creatures difficult. even what photos that are included are poorly printed and a bit muddy to discern details written of. Though the book is broken into chapter and sections, the writing seems to blend in and repeated than dissected separately. I have to guess this was quickly assembled or a re-write of an actual thesis. This seems hard to believe in that two writers are noted. Both with extensive backgrounds in writing. i don't know what happened here, but i can't recommend thnis book. Bottom line: i don't recommend this book. 3 out of ten points.
