Review # 1 was written on 2012-08-22 00:00:00 Anthony Kiedis I finished reading Christy Brown's Background Music: Poems, last night and I was just as swept away and touched by this book of poetry as I was with the first book of them that I have read. (The Poems of Christy Brown.) There are some repeating poems though, but that is okay with me, because I love pretty much all of them so far. Now I have moved on to his Come Softly To My Wake, which of course I am also enjoying. I have one more of his poetry books left to go after this one, and I am very excited about that one, because most of the poems look "new" - no repeats. So yay. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-01-31 00:00:00 Michael Carlin A kid visits the Scottish countryside for a summer holiday with his dad and his friends. Loved the book and especially a lovely imagery that the author managed to create of a 50s countryside town considered dead due to lack of work and set in the 50s, the characters talk of nostalgia. A lot of gaelic is interspersed in the conversations adding to the flavour. |
