Review # 1 was written on 2008-08-10 00:00:00 John Siegel Yet another bad choice for a textbook--I kind of feel like instructors feel like they have to require textbooks, lest they lose some of that "I'm the authority and this is my pick as a good book" sheen. If you're an instructor, and your students can get just as good--if not better--material online or otherwise free/cheap, don't make them buy a textbook. Especially if it's not one for which you're garnering royalties. Did an editor even look at this thing? This book might best serve as an example of how not to write a book, as a practitioner, and influence your industry. Hell, after looking at the first few chapters of this (I can't give it any more of my attention) I think I could write a book and convince some instructor that it's a good fit as a required reading. |
