Review # 1 was written on 2020-09-07 00:00:00 Juanito Sevilla A late 1970s book about the history of The Black Rock Desert in Northern Nevada. It is where the Burning Man festival is held every year now. It is a good history book of the opening of the region to white settlers. It has a mid-20th Century feel to the writing, but is accurate and not biased. It could use more maps and the photographs are not printed well. I would have also like more of the geology presented. It is a good book for people to read about the history of the west and the history of Nevada. It is one of the last wiold and open spaces left in America outside Alaska. It is rapidly vanishing. |
