Review # 1 was written on 2014-05-21 00:00:00 Rob Flury See review of Varnum. Coles was a colleague of Baird's at Amherst. Again, another solid book about writing and pedagogy that transcends itself. Probably the closest thing to seeing writing getting taught other than sitting in the classroom observing, but even then, reading Coles's writing is part of the experience. Another academic writer who doesn't suck.

Review # 2 was written on 2010-03-13 00:00:00 Stefano Ley Reread for the Dead Poets project. This was the focus of the first academic essay I ever published,so it was interesting to revisit. I remember being powerfully moved by reading it. I'm less so, now. It seems a little clunky and aggressive.
