Review # 1 was written on 2015-06-24 00:00:00 Cathy Wiggins This book was published in 1915, and many people dismissed it because they believed that he could not have been present at a lot of the events he wrote about. My edition had an introduction written in 2005 that authenticated his presence for most of the events. The author wrote about events taking place in the late 1800's. He left home at the age of 14 because he had been reading "dime novels" about the wild west and thought he could become an Indian killer, which was romanticized in those novels. The book tells of various people he knew and the places he went and of what I see as the brutality of that time period in those places. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-09-16 00:00:00 Laura Garay Read this book because I am from Omaha and it was an interesting read but I was disappointed it kind of trailed off and I was left wanting to know more about his family. |
