I love cats so I was pretty excited to read this book, but overall it was just an okay book. If I wrote an alphabet book about cats, I would have written it differently. I didn't like how for the letter U, the word was ugly and it showed a hairless cat. Unique would have been a better word. Children shouldn't be taught that these type of cats are ugly. Same thing with the letter B for Black cat. I didn't like how it said to be careful around black cats because some believe for them to be bad luck. The cat's face is perfect for that text though. Its face seems frightened or saying "Like really, you think I'm bad luck?". It made me chuckle. I had a problem with some other letters as well, but it was more of just wording it differently to make it flow better. The photographs are great and the cats are adorable though! Plus I also liked the facts about the cats at the end of the book. I had no idea they didn't like the smell of oranges or that white haired cats can get sunburned and every kitten is born with blue eyes (they change as they grow). How cool! The glossary at the end is nice too, along with the index.

Big, bright photographs of mostly cats and little cat facts/statements to an ABC theme. Not bad, more interesting than The Cats' ABC.
