Review # 1 was written on 2012-09-29 00:00:00 Anthony Micciche This is a very realistic book that covers some serious life issues. I would recommend this book for older children. It covers, lesbian/gay relationships, divorce, and teen pregnancy to name few. I think it is a very candid look into some indiviuals and families lives and things they are dealing with. Even though I like the information in the book, it contains grown up, and sexuality issues not suitable for younger children. It could be used in family issues, sexuality, diverse family units. The book would be good for starting a discussion on the topic. The book was well written. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-10-18 00:00:00 Renee Iademarco Each page of this non-fiction picture book tells a story of a different family. Each family is different and special in their own way. Some families are single parent homes, one family lives on a compound, etc. This book is a wonderful addition to my text set because it discusses real life families and shows a good variety on the topic. Two things I really enjoyed about this book is the variety of cultural groups shown and the images of the families were all real images! |
