John Matthews has excellent taste so when I saw he had edited this anthology I knew it would be a winner. The format of this book reminds of another of his books, one where he authored the tales, called "The Song of Taliesin," which I also highly recommend reading. I borrowed this book on a whim without researching it much beforehand, so I was pleased that I had not encountered any of these stories in previous books. I checked this out from the library, but now I think I have to own it. :) Matthews' stuff never ceases to inspire me. (I also noticed this is the only review on this book with text which is surprising to me. Hopefully my review will encourage more people to pick this book up and give it a try, it really is excellent.) |
