Introductory, big-picture and technical, which in this case unfortunately adds up to everything sounding meaningless. Words like arousal and appraisal and feedback all over the place. Organised by type of theory (e.g. cognitive, physiological, clinical). It's good if you're trying to understand how two theorists differ, but not ideal for actually getting an intuition. On the other hand, is really cool that such a book exists, and I'm stunned that it has sections on both Ekman (facial expressions, 152) and Wierzbicka (semantic primitives, 207ff).

A must read for everyone. Hard to find, but worth it. It's a great guidebook for life.
