Review # 1 was written on 2017-12-13 00:00:00 Sherry Garten Introductory, big-picture and technical, which in this case unfortunately adds up to everything sounding meaningless. Words like arousal and appraisal and feedback all over the place. Organised by type of theory (e.g. cognitive, physiological, clinical). It's good if you're trying to understand how two theorists differ, but not ideal for actually getting an intuition. On the other hand, is really cool that such a book exists, and I'm stunned that it has sections on both Ekman (facial expressions, 152) and Wierzbicka (semantic primitives, 207ff). |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-08-25 00:00:00 FRED BARNES A must read for everyone. Hard to find, but worth it. It's a great guidebook for life. |
