Review # 1 was written on 2014-11-02 00:00:00 Chris Newton A pesar del tiempo transcurrido, casi 20 años, recuerdo perfectamente este libro por un vil detalle y es que me decepcionó. Posiblemente fuera porque venía de haber leído otros títulos del autor y con este me esperaba otra cosa. En realidad es una guía de viajes y tengo que reconocer que muy bien documentada. Lo que hace que su lectura, por otro lado, sea un tanto farragosa. Tengo la impresión que es un libro que hay que volver a leer.

Review # 2 was written on 2020-01-10 00:00:00 John Morris I've dipped into this over the years but never read the whole thing before. Why, I can't say, but I'm very glad to have read it now. It is packed with interesting history and a veritable smorgasbord of obsessive and passionate people. And he's very funny! I probably will never go to Egypt but travelling by book is deeply satisfying too. I will happily find his other books and feel very sad to find he died this year.
