I really really liked this book! The pictures are really fun and different- sort of collagey and the different objects look like they are made with different textures of paper, etc. (though there are no actual textures to feel) I REALLY liked the "poetry" though- the rhymes were really clever and they made GREAT use of onomatopoeia and alliteration, which made it the most interesting book for my 11-mo-old son to listen to, by far. They also cleverly snuck in the numbers 1-10, which I appreciated. I really think this book would be worth owning.

This book was a fun surprise. I really hadn't expected much. Salo loves the beach so he lit up on the first page. Really perfect for a toddler. He liked all the fish, crabs, sea animals, birds that can be found on the coast. He is really into counting right now. We both liked the sounds in the book - which a lot of books just don't get quite right. The pictures have a lot going but are not busy.
