Review # 1 was written on 2016-12-18 00:00:00 Big Kokk This is fantastic for learning proper grammar. If you want to stop second-guessing your grammar when writing, then this book will be your answer. I read this book years ago. If my memory is correct, the format of the book is unique. You read a short lesson and an exercise problem on that lesson. You flip to the next page to find the answer and the next exercise problem. The page is divide into five sections, so you are actually going through the book cover-to-cover five times to complete the entire book. |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-01-29 00:00:00 Francine Rutigliano As tedious and horrible as this book was to complete, it was worth every second of the time. The guide is a comprehensive look at English grammar that covers just about everything that you need to know. It was not as entertaining as, say, Eats, Shoots, and Leaves but this is a book for school and not a guide for the casual reader. The exercises were dull as anything, but I can tell you that I will no longer be mistaking "Who" or "Whom" any more. |
