Review # 1 was written on 2017-05-10 00:00:00 Joseph Palanca Snowy Day focuses on every child's favorite part of winder: Snow Days!There are poems, stories, and recipes included in this volume, and all are centered on or around snow. The poems vary a bit in length from a couple lines to a few paragraphs, and many of them are complimented with what seems like charcoal or pen and ink line drawings. There are 3 stories about snow, and also 2 pages of facts about everyone's favorite white stuff - making the book very complete. There are additional references in the back pages for children who wish to read more. This volume is a great choice for children who love winter, and provides not only quality poetry and short stories, but also interactive recipes and opportunities to find additional resources.

Review # 2 was written on 2020-09-22 00:00:00 Carolyn Gleason Snow, snow, snow, which student wouldn't want to read about snow, especially in Southeastern New Mexico, where our snowfall accumulation is slime to none. Students can enjoy not only short poems about snow, but learn about different Japanese and Russian cultures folktales telling of snow. The book opens up to a short story about a Japanese folktale and ends with a recipes all involving snow, helping students who may have never seen or felt snow, understand its importance and the happiness it brings.
