A decent, basic book for early grades. Good pictures, and they don't sugarcoat the fact that lynxes eat hares--but there are also no gory pictures. The type size of the book is for early readers--say, 1st or 2nd grade. But the vocabulary is definitely more advanced. Way too many sentences in this book start with "But". "But they grow fast." (28) "But they will change to yellow after a few months." (30) "But they cannot hunt yet." (33) And so on and on and on. I am sure it is meant to make the book easier for younger readers to interpret, but it is very awkward.

This is a nonfiction easy reader. It is a good intro to tigers for kids that are fascinated by the animal. Reading this to my 7yo sparked conversation about endangered species, what makes an animal a mammal, where Aisa is in reference to our home, and how she was glad that I didn't clean her with my tongue when she was a baby. ;)
