Review # 1 was written on 2019-01-10 00:00:00 Gina Lofberg This book was very informative. Aside from having the historical background of Chinese immigration to America, the photographs were great! For an expository text, I thought the book was well written. The weblinks were a good way to provide a vehicle for more information about specific subject matter. The recipe in the book (i.e. fortune cookies) was quite a surprise. I also learned that fortune cookies are not native to China... Go figure!

Review # 2 was written on 2011-04-13 00:00:00 Timothy Tremaine This was a great book full of history. Felt like I was taking a history class on how the Chinese lived in American. Many surprising things I never knew. Not a story per say but full of information and facts.
