Review # 1 was written on 2019-11-09 00:00:00 Vicky Schulz Five fishermen friends go down to the river to catch fish. They all do rather well at catching fish, but their counting skills could use some work. First graders are able to practice their counting skills while working on their reading skills at the same time. |
Review # 2 was written on 2020-02-04 00:00:00 Todd Darby Five silly fishermen is about 5 fishermen who go down to the river. One sits on a rock, one sits on a dock, one on a tree, one in the grass, and one in a boat. At the end of the day each fisherman had caught a fish. The fishermen decide to count themselves before they leave the river. They only count four fishermen. A girl passes them and asks the fishermen why they are so sad and they tell her that they are sad because their friend died. The little girl counts the men as they jump into the river. She counts 5! The fishermen celebrate by giving the girl their fish. This book is great for younger children who are both learning math and learning to read! I personally love this book and think the story is cute. This book can be used for counting and literacy in speech therapy. |
