Review # 2 was written on 2012-08-30 00:00:00 Alan Armstrong Solid 3.5 stars...love all the sidebars and anecdotes and recipes...all the stuff you want from a book like this. Overall narrative is dated now (the Cosby stuff is cringeworthy) and doesn't always flow, but great book for dipping into if you're interested in the history of American food (for better or worse.) Makes me wish I owned a Jell-O mold.
