Review # 2 was written on 2020-11-15 00:00:00 Carmen T Saliceti Maldonado I was hesitant to pick this book up when I first saw it in my parents' house; if anything, I rolled my eyes at it because the title, and seeing that it was authored by men, gave off a mysogynistic aura. But as the saying goes "don't judge a book by its cover" - and I guess in this case, its title. While I don't want to dwell too much on the title, I will say that it could have had a more appropriate, or at the very least, inviting one. On to the content. Stellar stuff! I mean as soon as I got to the first case study, I was eager to read about couples and their dilemmas, and see through them what women can do better to be in sustainable relationships with men. I especially enjoyed the section on becoming friends with your partner (or potential partner) and how fundamental it is - because let's be honest, we want someone we can be ourselves around, and who better to do that with than someone we consider our friends? The authors used a variety of case studies [couple examples] which was great because I resonated with some of the stories, and found myself taking some notes that I can continue to reflect on. This book is for women, but some sections appeal to men too. I'd certainly recommend it to people who are striving to be in better relationships, or who are actively dating to find a life partner.
