Review # 1 was written on 2014-09-14 00:00:00 Cesar Lujan First class and thoroughly researched biography of an extraordinary soldier - but ultimately a very sad story. This is a very good follow-up to any of Rooney's books on the Chindits, giving you a more detailed look at one its most interesting characters other than Wingate himself. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-09-27 00:00:00 Steve Mannino Not a terrific read for me. I wanted more of a biography and less of a educational treatise on McLuhan's philosophy. A lot of the book, in fact most of the discussion of field/ground in media, was way beyond my understanding and interest. There were a few bright spots including the explanation of "the medium is the message", but I reeally enjoyed the actual biographical portions of the book the most. |
