Review # 1 was written on 2014-02-12 00:00:00 Diego Argaez Antiques Roadshow Collectibles: The Complete Guide to Collecting 20th Century Glassware, Costume Jewelry, Memorabilia, Toys and More From the Most-Watched Show on PBS by Carol Prisant (Workman Publishing 2003) (745.1)is the companion book to the popular PBS show that originates from WGBH in Boston. Like The Antiques Roadshow Primer, this volume is short on the "nuts and bolts" of how a collector goes about determining and recognizing value in a potentially collectible item. Oh well - the principle of "caveat emptor" applies to the book as well as to the collectible - and maybe that's the takeaway lesson! My rating: 5/10, finished 2/12/14. |
