Review # 2 was written on 2014-09-06 00:00:00 Michael Stevens I first came across Rabbi Wolpe on the Huffington Post website. He had written a very pleasant blog entry related teaching children about God, and received--quite literally--hundreds of angry, sneering responses (mostly from the lefty assholes who regularly frequent websites like the HuffPo). Personally I thought what he wrote was lovely, so I sought out his book. Wolpe is Jewish, obviously, but his advice to parents about how to talk about God and God-related issues, like death, evil, thankfulness, etc. is applicable to any family of faith. I love the little teaching stories he sprinkles throughout, and I found his tone to be tremendously kind and gentle, as though the reader was being told a story sitting on his or her grandfather's lap. Rabbi Wolpe has written a book about faith, too,and I am planning on reading it. |
