Paul Homoly does an excellent job of laying out the conditions that need to be met before excelling at complete care dentistry. He's frank. He does a great job at pointing out possible areas of struggle for the dentist, staff, and patient that holds back treatment. This isn't a playbook, but an overview dentist-patient related re-occurring roadblocks to complete care - It isn't always about money. "Never try to teach a pig to sing. You'll waste your time and irritate the pig." - He's funny too. I'm in my first year of practice and have found many of the conversation patterns very useful even though I'm not practicing this level of dentistry. I'm simply not ready; this book has showed me that I'm not. However, I know where I'll need to focus on to get better, acquire complete care patients, and prepare for this world of dentistry down the road (and it's not for everyone). He does well to segment patients into different categories. I plan to re-read this several times over the years and have some of his audio recordings **Although there is a frustration that he refers to CD #s all the time in the book that don't seem to match up with the audio-files on the website (I did buy the book used; possibly an older edition). I plan to subscribe to his methods (staff must be on board as well) when the time is right.
