Review # 1 was written on 2012-08-27 00:00:00 Jared Sheffield Beautiful and simplistic outlook explaining The Blessed Mother. If you are Catholic and need a refresher or a non catholic interested in why Catholic have a devotion to Mary this a book to read. The end of the book comes with Marian Prayers. Again it's a general overview of Our Blessed Mother and very accessible to all readers |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-05-01 00:00:00 Chocolate Delish An outstanding and, at times, inspiring book. John communicates some interesting insights into Carmelite history and the rise and fall and rise of the Order. "The history of the Carmelites...is a lesson about the danger of human hubris and the consequences of neglecting essential values; it is also a testimony to the human spirit, which has the capability of going once more to the well of its imagination and drawing up an image of what once was and what still could be." That's at the beginning of Chapter 1. Naturally I had to read on! This is another book I keep coming back to and frequently reference. |
