Well done as always by Ferrell on Truman. Most was as I expected however, I was surprised to learn that Plain Speaking by Merle Miller was, "a gross literary fraud." Ferrell states that Miller, "took unpardonable liberties with the president's words on tape." I found this revelation so disapponting because this book was the Truman book that most impressed me as a young person.

This book makes me both glad to live in the age of email and nostalgic for a time when people wrote letters--at least letters as beautiful and romantic as these. It's a bit voyeuristic to read other peoples' love letters, of course, but so much fun.
