Review # 1 was written on 2021-04-22 00:00:00 Nathan Luecking Worthwhile for the Pashukanis text from 1930 (Soviet State and the Revolution in Law) that is not included in the selected works and is of great interest since he further developes his theory from the General Theory and has a bit of an auto-critique on it.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-04-14 00:00:00 Robert Cortez Typical Ellison essays. Provocative, opinionated, the guy doesn't suffer fools, and knows how to put his views across in a relentlessly entertaining way. The highlight is the civil rights essay, with Ellison on the road in the 1960s with student activists in redneck southern states. This must be one of the best accounts of these times that I have ever read. Next best was the essay about Steve McQueen, another hero of mine. Good to know that the two of them met.
